Wire Brushing; When a client wants the elegant look of a very slightly textured wood or hardwood floor which is more durable, resilient, more forgiving and more elegant than a sanded smooth finish, wire brushing is the answer. The technique has been around for a few years now but is just now starting to gain traction and demand here. This technique basically removes only the soft grain just below the surface which leaves only the hard grain on the surface, making for a hardwood floor with the hardest surface that it can possibly have and the texture is absolutely beautiful. I believe that it is a timeless classic finishing technique which will last for a very long time. It is by no means the cheapest finish to choose from but, the cheaper the finishing technique, the more times that it has to be sanded and refinished.
